Saturday, May 23rd closed out a week of snow and drizzly weather just in time for the PLAG Annual BBQ held at the covered East Pavilion on Plamer Lake.  With 44 members and guests participating in the event, PLAG Event Hosts Sherrie Moss and Kathleen Seelye, opened the BBQ with hot BBQ chicken sandwiches and corn accompanied by a large array of chips and salsas, cheese boards, fruit, salads, beans, macaroni and cheese, all brought by members to share with friends and family.   While still a bit on the chilly side, members played corn hole, gathered to catch up on the latest news with others, and to welcome our guests invited from the Plein Air Artists of Colorado group of painters.  With a number of PLAG members being in both groups it was an opportunity to share ideas and art opportunities in the front range community.

After lunch, an “Art Trivia” game was introduced to the crowd with five tables competing against each other for the grand prize: apple pie and ice cream.  Four rounds of questions about artists and art history were led by members Rita Bates, Sandy Mileski, Anne Dye and Jamie Wilke.  Vicki Mynhier was the judge, keeping things from getting too rowdy while commanding participant behavior, as always, with Donna Arndt coordinating table captains.  After the four rounds were completed, we were at a tie for points between two tables:  Table 5, Anne and Mike Dye, Glory and Tony Paulsen, with children, and Jamie Wilke vs. Table 1, Bob Zettler, Rita Bates, Donna Arnt, Mike and Linda Koloski, Don Goodman and Gregg Mynhier.  Kathleen Seelye read the final question with the win going to Table 1 as Gregg gave the correct answer.  All good sports, pie was shared with the group!
